Tillandsia eric knobloch is a stunning hybrid of T. Brachycaulos and T. Streptophylla. Created by Joe Carrone in New Orleans during the 1960s, this hybrid is one of the most admired Tillandsia varieties. It inherits much of its size and form from its pollen parent, T. Streptophylla, while showcasing the vibrant red blush of T. Brachycaulos. The foliage is long, wide, and leathery, curling gently—though less so than T. Streptophylla. The plant produces a tall, striking red inflorescence that blooms with tubular flowers featuring purple petals, typically appearing in May (Autumn).
